A busy sounding intersection, where electronic highways connects with desert tracks, hypnotic Balinese rhythms and deafening metropolitan jazz streets: this is the nature of The Crossing, the new project by Enzo Favata.
Born in Augusta in 1969, the Sicilian trumpeter and composer Roy Paci immediately established himself both as a songwriter and as a trumpet player of exuberant virtuosity, with a truly unique curriculum for richness and variety of paths.
Musically trained in the band of his country of origin and immediately moved to local jazz bands, while still a teenager he made himself known in jazz clubs all over Italy. Barely twenty, he embarks on a series of training trips that take him to South America, the Canary Islands and Senegal. All profitable experiences and full of stimulating encounters. Back in Italy he stands out in the alternative scene, revealing a particular predilection for the ska genre. At the same time, he rediscovers his roots through the La Banda Ionica project, with which he revisits the most popular funeral marches in southern Italy. In his projects there is a strong tendency towards musical melting pot: a coexistence of swing, rock, ska and Caribbean rhythms, without ever forgetting the rich Sicilian tradition.
